January 9, Challenge 9 #JanuaryJourney #ready

After a week of freezing temperatures and illness, it was so nice to watch my little boys play outside today.  When they were so sick, it was comforting to me to know that the sickness was temporary, as best I knew, and that there would be better days ahead.  As we enjoyed our beautiful, healthy day today, I was reminded of the opposite as well, though… that there will be more hard days ahead.  So, the lesson for me is to make the most of every beautiful day in the sun.  January may seem like a weird time to make sand castles, but that’s what we did today in the boys’ sandbox.

January 9, Challenge 9:  When the sun is out, make sand castles!  What I mean is, when you have sunny days, literally and figuratively, make the most of what you have… good weather, good health, the presence of those you love, the opportunity to experience something meaningful with those you love.

I hope you get to make some sand castles this week!

*Author’s admission :  “Making sand castles” with the twins actually means that I made them and the boys destroyed them.  (not picture perfect, but I am redefining my perfection… see yesterday’s post) #boymom

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.  Matthew 6:34
